The recent killing spree that took place in Gilbert, Arizona, that left five people dead, including the killer, has drawn a lot of comment on the now identified and deceased perpetrator, Jason Todd Ready. It seems Ready, 39, was a long time troubled individual based upon his disparate association with all kinds of radical and sometimes not so radical associations and organizations. Early on in the issue of illegal immigration in Arizona, Ready created the U.S. Border Guard, a small civilian group that dressed in combat fatigues and legally carried firearms ( under Arizona law ) and patrolled along the southern Arizona border ostensibly to interdict illegal aliens and Mexican cartel drug smugglers
Jason Todd (J.T.) Ready, was, among other things, a Neo-Nazi with a long criminal record, who had received a bad-conduct discharge from the Marines in 1996. Ready had an eclectic background in both radical and mainstream politics. It seems he tried unsuccessfully in 2006 to enter Republican politics with a run for the Mesa, AZ, City Council, but was rebuffed for his Neo-Nazi white supremacist views as illustrated by his membership in the National Socialist Movement. Ready's latest political effort was to run for Sheriff of Pinal County as a Democrat to replace current Sheriff, Paul Babeu, who is running for the U.S. Congress
In addition to all the above activities Ready engaged in at one time or another, last year, 2011, Ready participated in #Occupy Phoenix as an armed guard patrolling the function for what ever purpose, as it was somewhat unclear from this video.
My final assessment of Jason Ready is that he was living in and clinging to his own fantasy world based upon his long held white supremacist beliefs as he found them in the National Socialist Movement. Ready's entire being and existence was based upon his tortured beliefs of fulfilling some kind of messianic purpose. It was a melding of racial, social and political beliefs that compelled Ready to create his own universe and world view through whatever means he could manage to manipulate to his advantage. Thus, Ready used whatever political association that would further his own personal agenda. In Ready's mind, the end justified the means he sought to use in order to realize some sense of personal achievement and fulfillment in his life.
The Left would have everyone believe that Ready was a right wing Neo-Nazi as condemnation of conservative politics and ideology. What the Left continually and purposely fails to acknowledge openly is the fact that Nazis are "national socialists." They were and are left of center politically. They are only viewed as right wing when compared to communists. It was Joseph Stalin who labeled the Nazis as right wing because they were to his right politically. In other words the Nazis sought similar ends when compared to the communists, but sought different means than the communists to accomplish the same complete power and control over every aspect of human life within their respective domains. Nazis competed with the communists on the political battleground as well as the military battleground for supremacy between the two ideologies.
This facts of this article are a composite from the following two sites. The editorializing is from my understanding of the differences and similarities between Nazism and communism and my belief of what motivated Ready on a psychological level.
