I admit to having the occasional Twinkie, so this is good news for me and an American icon of snack food.

Twinkies will come back since two venture capital firms have come up with a baseline offer. When VC firms start to make offers, you know there will be a resurrection of the Hostess brands and that's a good thing for all the loyal fans and buyers of Twinkies and the other related Hostess snack food.
Private equity firms Apollo Global Management LLC and C. Dean Metropoulos & Co have set a baseline offer of $410 million to buy the company's snack cake brands including Hostess Twinkies and Dolly Madison, Hostess said last month.
The so-called stalking horse bid by the private equity firms, working together to buy the 82-year-old baker, would serve as the minimum offer for the business, which could still be topped by others...
This is probably the best thing that has happened to the Hostess product line since its inception. I expect the Hostess line to come back stronger with additional lines of complimentary snacks alongside its icon products.

Not a Twinkie fan, but the luscious Hostess Cupcake with the peel-able frosting will be missed.
