Armed Gunman Discovers Life was Worth More than a Dollar in General

by Elizabeth Nelson

We have to love the stories that make conservatives cheer while making the liberal's unicorn vomit. There's a Dollar General on every corner, I'd bet a dozen donuts that as you're reading this, you can picture the closest Dollar General in your neighborhood.

However, what you probably can't picture is an armed assailant waving a gun in our face, threatening to kill us, possibly our family that's with us, and the rest of the shoppers in the store, as we shop. That's exactly what happened in Alabama, until armed assailant met a "good Samaritan."

A gunman bursts into a Dollar Store and threatened to kill everyone and before police could
even respond, he was dead.

An armed man entered a Orrville, Ala., Dollar General on Thursday, waved his gun in the air and threatened to kill everyone, AL.com reports. Though motive is unclear, he never got the chance to hurt anyone because a customer carrying a concealed handgun neutralized him with a deadly shot.

Dallas County Sheriff Harris Huffman Jr. told WSFA-TV that the gunman held a cashier and customer at gunpoint, forcing them toward a break room area. It was at this point that the customer reportedly drew his firearm and shot the suspect one time in the chest. The entire incident took less than five minutes, police say.

The gunman was pronounced dead on the scene.

The sheriff said the customer is not currently facing any charges over the shooting death, however, investigators are working to confirm he had a valid concealed carry permit. Open carry is legal in Alabama, but a permit is required to carry a concealed handgun.

Obviously the gunman couldn't read or had a death wish, because Dollar General is a Second Amendment store; the concealed carry sign is posted openly outside the store.

There was also a sign posted outside the Dollar General prohibiting open carry, but not concealed carry, the report states.

“The deceased individual had his in his hand, waving it. The customer actually had one in a holster covered up. We’re in the process of checking on permits and all of that,” Huffman Jr. said.

“You have one individual waving a gun and you have another one who shoots the one waving the gun. Some people say that’s justifiable. Then you’re going to have some who says it’s not. I think we need to get all of the information we can get from everybody and then go forward from there,” the sheriff added. Read more Blaze

No one, other than the gunman, was injured in the incident. No one is saying that the "Good Samaritan" is a "good man" but just Concealed Carry holder stepped up and did the right thing at the right time and lives were saved because of it, which has always been our argument.

Stating the Obvious:

We don't know yet if the assailant obtained his gun by legally means and whatever his motive, we already understand that it's against the law to rob a store, threaten anyone with a weapon and kill with a gun, but this man had the evil intent to break one or all of those laws at the point of the gun, but never had the opportunity to fire a shot.

So liberals, remind me again how stricter regulations (like Chicago), when we already have regulations and gun laws on the books that we don't enforce, "background checks," "fewer bullets in our magazine," and not-so "scary guns" would have stopped this assault from happening.

You're right, it didn't, the Concealed Carry holder did.
