No one is perfect and all will at some point be caught in an embarrassing situation where the completely wrong thing will be done or said. Fortunately, most of us will not have this moment caught on camera and broadcast to millions of people.
Unfortunately for Chris Daughtry, this is exactly what happened to him on Friday's appearance of Fox & Friends. When asked by the hosts to sing a patriotic song in honor of D-Day, Daughtry claims he was caught off guard and unprepared and did not handle the situation in an honorable or appropriate way.
"I'm off the clock," he said. "I'm going to watch 'y'all." When the hosts gathered microphones and attempted to come up with a song the crowd could sing, Daughtry left the stage with the comment, "This is where I'll bail." His actions triggered fury on Twitter, with one fan pointing out that U.S. soldiers "didn't go off the clock" on D-Day.
The next day Daughtry released an apology video to address the incident. These days Americans (especially veterans) are used to being lied to and disrespected. What is refreshing is to see a sincere apology. Take note Obama!
