Leftist Bill Maher - Really a Closet Conservative - “Hamas to Blame for Violence”

I’m beginning to think that either Bill Maher is a closet Conservative and is about to come out into the light or he’s hit his head and he’s finally getting it right.  No doubts about his stand with Israel, his is great.  Did you happen to see what he and his mostly Conservative panel said about the Israel/Palestine conflict and who’s to blame for the violence, Friday, much to his audience’s pleasure?

HBO “Real Time” host Bill Maher left no doubt on his show Friday about who he thinks is responsible for the violence in Gaza.

 

“I feel terrible for a Palestinian child who dies,” Mr. Maher said. “But if it’s your father, your brother, your uncle who’s firing those rockets into Israel, whose fault is it really? Do you really expect the Israelis not to retaliate?”

 

The comment drew applause from his audience and, surprisingly, gave Mr. Maher something he rarely has on his show: agreement with one of his conservative guests. Jamie Weinstein, an editor of The Daily Caller, said that extremists will always be trying to harm Israel regardless of the country’s actions.

 

“I don’t think you can understand the conflict without reading Hamas’ charter, upon which they were founded, which clearly calls — and it’s chilling — calls for not only the destruction of Israel but the murder of Jews generally,” Mr. Weinsten said.  “They say the day will come when the trees will call out and say ‘here’s a Jew come kill him.’ This is the mentality of the people that Israel is fighting,” he continued.

“Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.”~ George Santayana is one of my favorite quotes.  However, what about those who not only remember their past but learned from it and refuse to be victims of their present and future, as their ancestors once were?   History plays the Jews as “sheep led to the slaughter” by Hitler. Too often, people say, “why did they Jews just lay down their lives, why didn’t they rise up, ‘fight back’ and defend themselves?"  Oh, hypocritical Americans, we speak through both sides of our mouth. Then I watch the liberals defend Palestine and this feckless occupying “president” who all but asks Israel to lay down their arms, “show restraint” and die, when they’ve already seen how that path ended, in the near past and in the distant past.

 

Mr. Maher said he believes that Israel has been effective at defending itself in part because of its scientific expertise. “Jews have, I think, 155 Nobel Prizes. Muslims have two,” he said. “That seems like kind of a big advantage for team Hebrew.” Read more at Washingtontimes

 

The host found himself in hot water earlier this week for a tweet he sent out about the conflict. “Dealing w/ Hamas is like dealing w/ a crazy woman who’s trying to kill u - u can only hold her wrists so long before you have to slap her,” his message wrote. Of course, the comment drew swift condemnation from activists who criticized Mr. Maher’s sexist statement.


Baher was right, Palestine is protecting its missiles with its citizens, in hospitals, schools, homes and mosques and Israel is protecting her people with its missiles.  Israel even goes so far as to drop leaflets, send texts and make calls ahead of airstrikes detailing where and at what time they are going to bomb, so as to minimize human casualties, which is more than Hamas does, because Hamas wants to kill every Jew in Israel, so the Palestinian death toll is their fault, as we would do the same if we were in Israel’s shoes, only if we were honest, we wouldn’t warn the Country attacking us that we were about to blow up their munitions posts, and the “martyr” that chose, by an act of their will, to protect it for “the love and patriotism of their Country.”  “Collateral Damage.”  Just wait, American Sheeple, our time to walk a mile in their shoes is coming, especially after releasing the Gitmo 5 and letting everyone from the M13 gang to potential terrorists freely float across our borders unchecked.
