Wow, have you ever gotten a wild, twisted hair and then done something about it? I tried to make an appointment to see Governor Scott, to no avail (hey, never know unless you try) – they staged a freaking protest, over Trayvon Martin at his office and got to see him – I'm not that inconsiderate, so instead I decided to write him yet another letter, but that's nothing new, I do that every month or two.
This time, I'm posting it here for all of you to see, and sending it on to all of my representatives - from the House to the Senate. ;) Feel free to use any part of it, to send on to your representatives. Find your rep here by typing in your information:
Dear [added Representative of choice here] (they are all about the same, except
for Mr. Rick Scott and Mr. Ted Cruz - I know, he's not my rep, but any excuse to write to the man, he is my hero)
I am writing to you today, because I am
concerned with the direction of our Country, not only fiscally but
morally. Instead of taking
responsibility for the direction, and doing the hard work to fix and correct our
path, we have leaders that would sooner place blame. Perhaps they don’t have the solution or they
lack the desire to do what it takes to do get the job
done. Whether it’s spending less and
within our means or protecting our Second Amendment Right to Bear Arms, the
solution is right in front of us and it starts with We the People.
Our Four Fathers knew that our Second
Amendment Right wasn’t just for hunting, but it was going to be a freedom that would
be needed for protection from a Tyrannical Government. Sadly it’s also one of many freedoms that are
taken for granted and misused. However,
when will we stop blaming guns and realize that we don’t have a gun problem,
but we have a heart and mental problem?
We have gun laws that we don’t enforce now, so
how is creating more laws going to deter criminals from breaking those laws?
Rape, murder, drunken driving, prostitution, suicide and selling illegal drugs
are all against the law, but people do it all the time. It’s not the law-abiding citizen that is
robbing banks, shooting up theaters and schools, it’s the mentally ill. We have a mental illness problem that no one
is addressing, just like the VA system, until someone noticed vets dying.
People don’t need guns to kill; Cain killed
Abel with a rock, Timothy McVeigh used fertilizer, the 9/11 terrorists used box
cutters and 2 airplanes, the Nazi’s used cyanide gas, OJ Simpson used a knife,
the BTK Killer used tape, a knife and pantyhose and Ted Bundy used his charm
and a knife. My point is, where there is a will, evil will always find a way.
We don’t blame every Muslim for what happened during 9/11, cars for drunken driving
accidents and we certainly don’t make the driver instantly famous by televising
his accident all over national news, so why do we do that with these idiots? The solution is so simple a Liberal Caveman
could understand it, but Obama won’t do it, because it humanizes us the
legal-gun-owners.
1.
Stop
making these killers famous
2.
Make
the laws we have on the books so horrific they’ll think twice before touching a
gun
3.
Make
a nationwide example of these idiots when you prosecute them
4.
Make
heroes out of the Concealed Carriers that come forward and save lives, at the
risk of their own
5. Have someone produce and air PSAs for in-home gun safety
6.
Issue
coupons for in-home gun safes, which are outrageously priced for the good ones –
giving any store a federal break that honors the coupon, this way children and
burglars (because criminals obey the law) can’t get their hands on our weapons.
7.
Fix
our broken mental health system. Adam Lanza’s mom was trying to get him help
and couldn’t. Have you heard about 17-Year-Old John LaDue?
In a nutshell, no pun intended, John LaDue
was caught before he could carry out his heinous murder plot to kill
his entire family, head to his high school, set off a bomb and then shoot
whomever the bomb didn't kill. Where, prey-tell did a 17-year-old get
bombs and a stockpile of weapons? He stole them from his father (see
solution #5 above).
He himself admitted that he came from a good
home and had never been bullied, the common liberal excuse for retaliatory gun
violence. He said he’d “harbored homicidal thoughts
for years,” and wanted to take as many people out
with him as he could. Evil will always find a way. Fortunately, in this case, a
neighbor noticed his odd behavior, when he kept going in and out of the storage
unit and called it in.

Sincerely, Armed and Concerned in FL
