President Obama is Quickly Approaching the Point of No Return-Lame Duck Administration Ahead

President Obama may or may not realize that he is quickly approaching the point of no return in his second term.  What is the point of no return?  It's when a president becomes mired down in a second term by politics to the point the he and his congressional supporters become neutralized and can no longer command the political battlefield.  President Obama was able to completely dominate and control the political battlefield as he did in his first two years in office, where he had a majority of his party members in control of both houses of Congress.

I'm thinking that Obama actually may not be aware that he is approaching a point of no return because of pure ego.   Obama seems to have been buoyed up with his supposed victory over Republicans in the government shutdown and debt ceiling issues and his narcissistic personality disorder has occluded his ability to dispassionately analyze the reality before him.  The PR beatings the Republicans took in the funding and debt ceiling were, and will continue to be in lessening degrees, in my opinion, far more cosmetic in the long run, than debilitating for Republican chances in the remaining three years of Obama's second term and especially the last two years of his second term.

I believe that Obama and many of his supporters in Congress really believe they have the Republicans on the run and near self-imploding, if not extinction, but I don't see it that way.  To date, Obama and his administration have successfully fended off one scandal after another, but how long can that last as more and more information comes forth through various House committee investigations?  Ultimately, those scandals may only cumulatively add to Obama's difficulty in governing, but they may not be enough to bring his administration to a standstill.

What will bring Obama and his administration to a standstill in his last three years in office, will be his signature piece of legislation.  Obamacare, technically known as the Affordable Care Act, was and is his continuing dreamed of legacy.  Obama dreams of being remembered as the president that brought health care insurance to all Americans.  The problem with that dream will arise in the coming months and be realized as a nightmare for him and for millions of Americans as the structural defects of the various insurance plans become known by Americans seeking health insurance in the federal insurance exchanges and even in the state insurance exchanges.

Obamacare will fail on its own structural defects that will not and cannot be tweaked or doctored, since it will be found to be fundamentally impossible to achieve the goals it advertised.  It's the failure to deliver the promised goals that will stop Obama and his administration from initiating and moving along any other ambitious pieces of legislation.  The Congressional midterm elections will be influenced almost exclusively by the continuing failure of Obamacare in 2014 and beyond.  

It will begin soon and no amount of excuses from the Obama administration will change the underlying animosity that will have been engendered among voters across the majority of states and across all classes of people.

Now, if Republicans can manage to get out of their own way and simply continue to highlight the defects and failures of Obamacare as they arise, then Republicans, for a change, might just be able to snatch victory from the jaws of a defeat on November 4, 2014, predicted by liberal progressives.  A Republican victory in the midterm elections would mark the point of no return for President Obama and his administration in achieving any substantive new or resurrected legislative plans and that would be a victory for Americans going forward
