Senator Ted Cruz – Ready for a Fight and to Clean up Obama’s Mess in 2016

Senator Ted Cruz was in Iowa for the third time in three months Saturday, where he unabashedly defended his role in the Shut Down and his decision in trying to defund Obamacare. He told a crowd that he knows exactly how to unify the Republican party and turn the country around and that turnaround is in restoring historical economic growth.

It’s being kicked around that Senator Cruz is visiting Iowa again, because he is getting ready for his 2016 Presidential Run. A Cruz presidential bid would be sure to cause both outrage and joy on the left. The question is, can Ted Cruz – or any right-of-center conservative – unify a party that often seems more comfortable playing the role of “Democrat-light” in the minds of some?

As long as Ted Cruz in involved in national politics, it promises to be a bumpy ride in the very least. I don't know about you, but I'm tired of this pot hole riddled road we've gone done thus far, so I'm ready for the ride.

Texas Republican Sen. Ted Cruz is charging ahead with his argument that attempts to dismantle ObamaCare needed to be part of the recent Washington budget negotiations and is firing back at the GOP establishment and others who say his tactics led to an unnecessary, partial government shutdown.

Cruz, who appears poised for a presidential bid, told hundreds at a GOP fundraiser in Iowa on Friday that efforts he led to “defund” ObamaCare will carry the fight through the 2014 congressional and 2016 White House races.

"One of the things we accomplished in the fight over ObamaCare is we elevated the national debate over what a disaster, what a train wreck, how much ObamaCare is hurting millions of Americans across this country," Cruz said at the Iowa GOP's annual fundraising dinner in Des Moines. “Senate Republicans didn't stand together. Had we stuck together, the outcome might be very different. The House does now, but I'm confident that the U.S. senate will in time listen to the American people.”

The Tea Party-backed, first-term senator appeared to further define his political future, saying he will continue to focus on grassroots efforts, like the town hall-style meetings he helped lead this summer to garner support to defund ObamaCare.

“For everyone who says we need to think about winning elections in 2014, nothing energizes [voters] more than a grassroots election,” he said. “We got our clock cleaned in ’06, ’08 and ’12. But we had grassroots in [2010.] Republican strategists say let's go back to ’06, ’08 and ’12. They say keep your head down; that's how you win. What complete poppycock.” Read more FoxNews

In this 45-minute speech (“it’s not 21 hours -- 21 hours [joking about his ‘filabuster’], that’s a long time, that’s almost as long as it takes to sign up on the Obamacare website.”) that he gave at the Ronald Reagan Dinner, Cruz said over and over that working “collectively” is the only way to protect the nation from those who want to impose health insurance mandates, pile on more national debt, assault gun rights and hurt other constitutional rights.

 

“Anyone who has their cellphones on, please leave them on, I want to make sure Obama hears everything that is said tonight.”

And he doesn’t let the GOP off the hook, for their failure to stand strong, stand together and hold the line.

“It was the GOP’s failure to stand together,” he said, “that killed the effort to defund ObamaCare.”

Senator Cruz has proven that he is a man that stands by his convictions, his word, and his votes that fights for what’s best for the American people; could we ask for any better qualities in our President?
