Let's finally abolish, now and forevermore, the all too frequent use of child labor in America. It's a shameful blot on America's reputation of a caring and nurturing culture, society and nation.
It's time to come out of the shadows on this issue. Building America upon the frail little bodies of children is morally reprehensible. The flagrant and chronic use of child labor has been going on out of sight in the gray market ever since child labor laws went into effect.
Politicians have taken a blind eye toward this scourge for fear of offending their constituents. Children are being brainwashed into believing they can actually get ahead in life by working in their pre-teen, teen and post teen years, thus assuring themselves of developing a strong work ethic and a sense of personal fulfillment for their entire working lives. This insidious, noxious and mind numbing brain washing must cease now.
Children must be allowed to enjoy those years of freedom and liberty free of the tyranny of having to do anything constructive in their formative years all the way up to 26. After all, under Obamacare, these same little waifs can live in their parents basements playing Play Station 3 all day and night while they have no psychological and emotional worries about health insurance coverage and all those other mundane things like having to pay for their own food, clothing and shelter.
Children must be free to express their inner being, their reason for existence and it has to start now and it has to start with abolishing lemonade stands sprouting up every summer around the country. These same lemonade stands are being staffed by children in the heat of the day with no regulation over working conditions, hours, wages, and benefits, such as sick pay and vacation pay and NO collective bargaining. How un-American can that be?
How will children learn how to use social services like unemployment, food stamps, free emergency medical services, S-CHIP and medicaid, etc., if they are out in the world of work finding their way through the jungle we call life. These social agency survival skills don't just appear. They must be acquired and honed while sitting on their ass doing nothing during their school years, while getting free breakfasts and lunches along with pre-school and after school supervision and care so they can be prepared to really exercise their cognitive skills and abilities, while later hanging around the local Big Box Mall.
The children must be protected from themselves and the folly of their youth, until they come of age and realize all those other government funded problems they could milk throughout their entire adulthood don't just come around in the middle of the night with a little gnome spreading fairy dust on them. These skills must be learned, cultivated and practiced daily.
Abolishing child labor is all about the kids! Boycott lemonade stands! It all starts there. Lets just do it for the children! They are the future!
