Here's the latest slick political trick in the Massachusetts senatorial election between Scott Brown (R) and Elizabeth Warren (D)
[...] The state has mailed out voter registration letters to nearly 500,000 welfare recipients, in a push sparked by a group led by former ACORN bigwigs that critics say is a naked bid to boost Democrats at the polls in November.
The letters, mailed last month by the state’s Department of Transitional Assistance, went out as Republican U.S. Sen. Scott Brown and Democratic challenger Elizabeth Warren have been locked in a neck-and-neck race. [...]
Here's where it really gets interesting.
[...] Democratic Senate candidate Elizabeth Warren scoffed at the notion that anything “smells wrong” about a taxpayer-funded voter registration push targeting welfare recipients led by a group her own daughter chairs, after U.S. Sen. Scott Brown slammed the effort as a partisan bid to boost Warren’s chances. [...]
Elizabeth Warren's daughter is leading this obvious effort to garner Democrat votes and Chief Fake a Hontus has the gall to get in Scott's Browns wheelhouse and scoff at the idea that it's a purely partisan effort to get out the vote for Liz. Warren has no shame in this claim.
If that's not bad enough, Warren has gotten the state of Massachusetts to foot the bill for the registration notices to go out.
[...] Amelia Warren Tyagi is chairman of Demos, a non-profit behind a lawsuit that prompted state officials to spend nearly $300,000 in mailings encouraging welfare recipients to register to vote. [...]
If Brown wins this election, if will not be for want of trying on Warren's part. Good luck Scott, it's going to be a rocky campaign road to November 6.
