Here's another unintended consequence of Obama care and it's a gem

Do you have a pet?  Well, once Obamacare kicks in entirely, your visits to the vet will cost more.  How much more is not known at this time, but there will be increases as a result of Obamacare and passed on to consumers by vets.  It all revolves around the tax on medical devices.

Why the increase? Its part of a new 2.3-percent federal excise tax on certain medical devices that just went into effect. The tax will help fund the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, commonly known as Obamacare, intended for people, not pets. Manufacturers pay the tax, but a recent survey found more than half plan to pass it along...

Here's how the medical devices tax will impinge upon vets and pet clients.

Medical devices used only on animals are exempt. However, items including IV pumps, sterile scalpels and anesthesia equipment, which are medical devices that have a dual use, meaning they can be used on people and animals, will be taxed...

Get the picture?  Pet owners will be subsidizing Obamacare through increased costs passed on by vets.  But remember when you pay more at the vet that Congress had good intentions.

Congressional sources who worked on the Affordable Care Act said lawmakers tried to exclude vets from being affected by the dual use medical devices tax, but it was too complicated...

Apparently politicians can't walk and chew gum at the same time.  The proof of that axiom is obvious.  They couldn't manage to completely exempt vets from the medical devices tax.  We are living in an Alice in Wonderland world run by idiots and fools, with the chief idiot responsible in great part being the former Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, who told the world that congress would have to pass Obamacare in order to read it and understand it.  In my world of thinking, that's just plain crazy and Nancy is as looney as they get.
