What? John Cusack, liberal actor, excoriates Dem Senators for failure to participate in filibuster to protect Due Process

By Rob Janicki

Capitalist Preservation reported recently noted that Hollywood actor and self acknowledged liberal, John Cusack, lashed out at President Obama.  I thought that was probably a one off expression of frustration.  Apparently Cusack's frustration hasn't moderated or mellow out in the interim.

Now that actor John Cusack has already publicly blasted President Obama for “shredding civil liberties,” he has moved on to attacking Democratic senators — despite that fact he calls himself a liberal. The actor went to town on his Twitter account during Sen. Rand Paul’s filibuster Wednesday, pointing fingers at the liberal senators for staying absent during the entire 13-hour marathon on the Senate floor...

Cusack was hitting on Democrats for not participating on the issue of domestic usage of drones to kill American citizens on American soil for acts that may or may not be terrorist acts or imminent acts against America.  I actually think Cusack was concerned with the constitutional issue of due process and how the Obama administration was trashing it by not unequivocally opposing such possible action.

the liberal actor seemed less frustrated with the Kentucky senator’s 13-hour “filiblizzard” and more upset that the Democrats weren’t taking part...

Cusack may have been encouraged that lone Democrat Senator Ron Wyden did participate to strenuously object to even the potential use of drones to take out Americans without due process.  However, Cusack was definitely upset that Democrats beyond Wyden, did not step up to support Rand Paul's concerned objections to drone killings of Americans without constitutional due process.

Read Cusack's Tweets here during Paul's filibuster to experience his frustration with Democrats.  It's always refreshing when a liberal actually sees the light and strikes out against the monolith of liberal dogma.
