A South Korean Army conscript, for yet to be identified and determined reasons, went "postal" while on border guard duty along the eastern end of the DMZ between South and North Korea.
There was no indication that North Korean personnel were involved with the shootings.
Under the Obama administration's definition this would be called "workforce violence", rather than an act of terrorism, although I'm pretty sure this terrorized all who were involved and managed to survive the shootings.
The soldier/perpetrator killed a total of five soldiers and wounded another five soldiers. It's being reported that the shooter then escaped from the scene of the mass shootings. He was believed to be armed with additional ammunition.
No reason or motive for the shooting has been determined at this time, since the shooter is still on the loose. South Korean authorities continue to search for the perpetrator of this horrendous mass murder incident.
This post was primarily prepared from a Yahoo News report.
