if you're one of the five most expendable Democrat Senators running for re-election in November 2014.
Let's look at the math to basically understand why the loneliest number on the Democrat side of the aisle in the Senate is five. With the corrupt adoption of the "nuclear option" by the Thug in Chief of the Senate, Harry Reid, otherwise known as the Democrat Majority Leader, and his band of radical miscreants only need 50 Democrat senators, plus Vice President Biden (the tie breaking vote) to pass any legislation in the Senate.
Okay, now we understand the math. Now let's look at the 55 Demcrats that are presently sitting in the Senate and which ones are the most vulnerable to defeat in the 2014 Congressional mid term elections and thus expendable for the purposes of Obama and Reid. Hint: If you aren't a radial liberal progressive, you are at risk in this stunning political move by Obama and Reid.
Let's first look at Mary Lnadrieu of Louisiana.
Two days before the Senate voted to pass its version of Obamacare on Christmas Eve 2009, Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-LA) stood on the floor to explain her support for a bill she claimed would “reduce cost, expand coverage and increase choice and competition for Americans.”
At this point it would seem that Landrieu was a team player as she supported the Obama/Reid fraud on America. But, Obama and Reid needed her at that time and that's why she got them to cut a deal called the "Louisiana Purchase" that would bring $300 million dollars to Louisiana to get her support for what would become known as Obamacare.
Influence is fleeting though, and even if Landrieu manages to win her reelection (a new Southern Media and Opinion Research poll found just 41-percent support her reelection) and Democrats maintain control of the Senate, Landrieu’s influence will be severely diminished.
In other words, Mary Landrieu has been a useful tool for the Obama/Reid cabal. Her usefulness to the cabal going forward has been greatly reduced. Landrieu is now considered expendable. Watch for DNC financial support to be minimal at best and what funds may go to Landrieu will only be for window dressing. Those in the know will clearly see and understand that Landrieu has been hung out to dry as her usefulness has evaporated for all practical purposes.
What is interesting is that Mary Landrieu, in an ironic act, may have signed off on her own political death sentence. When Landrieu joyously voted in favor of the "Nuclear Option", Obama and Reid then only needed to keep 50 Democrats in their caucus and they no longer needed Mary Landrieu and four other very vulnerable "moderate" Democrat Senators. Moderates to Obama and Reid are simply viewed as "useful tools" to be charitable in that description.
If Mary Landrieu is as independent as she claims to be (hint: she’s not), then Barack Obama and Harry Reid don’t need her anymore. Landrieu made herself, and several of her fellow red state colleagues, expendable. When it comes nominations, Reid and Obama will no longer have to “focus on” senators like Mark Begich (D-AR), Kay Hagan (D-NC) and Mark Pryor (D-AR).
We already know that Obama is as radical a liberal progressive as we have ever seen as president. He is beholdened to like minded radical liberal progressives in the Senate that have unyieldingly supported the cabal at all times, unlike Mary Landrieu, Mike Begich, Kay Hagan, Mark Pryor and add Jeanne Shaheen of New Hampshire.
Would Reid risk alienating his massive liberal contingent -- senators such as Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), Tom Udall (D-NM), Al Franken (D-MN), Sherrod Brown (D-OH), Ben Cardin (D-MD), Barbara Boxer (D-CA), etc. -- to secure the support of “moderate” Democrats?

And that's why five is the loneliest number in the Democrat dominated Senate if you are not on the radical liberal progressive team of Barack Obama and Harry Reid. You have to give Obama and Reid credit for this most cynical and insidious political move in recent memory. It cuts the Democrat Senate caucus to its most lean, mean and radical liberal progressive core, thus reducing reliance of those moderates outside that radical core.
