Statement of Belief

I believe in America. Not what we have turned into, a deluded, divided and disgraced Republic, the result of reliance on hucksters, dilettantes, drones and deceivers in public office.

I believe there isn't a nickels worth of difference between the two major parties, they are almost indistinguishable by tactics, lies, spin and self-interest.

I believe in individuals, in the rights of the individual, in the existence of the government to serve and protect each individual, in the rights endowed on us by our Creator as denoted and recognized by our founders and framers, that among these are the most important endowed rights that form the master chord of the symphony of America, the right to life, the right to liberty and the right to the pursuit of happiness.

I believe that life, all human life, is sacrosanct, is inviolable, is the first and prime right of all humankind regardless of race, gender, national origin or economic class. For without life no other right is possible. With this right comes the obligation to respect and hold sacred this right for all others, that the only limitation on this right is when it overshadows or interferes with the same rights of another.

I believe in liberty, for all to be at liberty, in coming and going, to own land, move and live where they want, how they want, to work at whatever profession they choose, to speak and write freely, to believe in any religion or none. With this right comes the obligation to respect and hold sacred this right for all others, that the only limitation on this right is when it overshadows or interferes with the same rights of another.

I believe in the right to pursue happiness. There is no guarantee of happiness or even that the playing field will be level, only that we have the inalienable right to dream and to pursue those dreams, to seek fulfillment via those things that give us happiness. As with the others, this right comes with the obligation to respect and hold sacred this right for all others, that the only limitation on this right is when it overshadows or interferes with the same rights of another.

I believe that all other rights recognized by our Constitution and Bill of Rights are similarly endowed and bear the same obligations.

I believe that only our Creator can bestow or endow rights upon us, that government cannot legislate a right, only acknowledge them and that all valid rights apply to all and bear the same obligations as I have previously specified.

I believe it is the obligation of a citizen to be law-abiding, to respect lawfully appointed authority and to monitor and through the ballot box as well as speech in the public square, make known the issues affecting our Republic, our state and our local communities, so that the voice of "We the People" may speak loudly and effectively in choosing the people who will represent us in our government.

Yes, I believe in America and yearn for the time when "We the People" awake from our long sleep of delusion and once again take the reins of government away from the special interests and money-changers and do as did Jesus, chasing the thieves from the temple of our Republic.

Free Speech Suppressed in Russia

You may have noticed that I was missing in action for about a week or so ... the explanation can be read here. In that vein, I came across an interesting (and chilling) story on Chron. Here's an excerpt:

MOSCOW (AP) — Tens of thousands of Russians flooded Moscow's tree-lined boulevards Tuesday in the first massive protest against President Vladimir Putin's rule since his inauguration in May — a rally that came even as police interrogated key opposition leaders.

Since embarking on his third presidential term, Putin has taken a stern stance toward the opposition, including signing a repressive new bill last week introducing heavy penalties for taking part in unauthorized rallies.

Police on Monday searched opposition leaders' apartments, carting away computers, cellphones and other personal items. They also demanded that opposition leaders come in for questioning Tuesday just an hour before the rally began — widely seen as a crude attempt by the government to scare the protesters.

The march was being held on Russia Day, a national holiday that honors June 12, 1990, when Russian lawmakers decided that Russian laws should take priority over Soviet Union laws. The Soviet Union then collapsed in 1991.

Leftist politician Sergei Udaltsov snubbed the summons, saying he considered it his duty to lead the protest as one of its organizers. Russia's Investigative Committee said it wouldn't immediately seek his arrest but would interrogate him later. [...]

All too chilling, especially in light of what happened to me.

I'm Just Getting Started

Allen West's new ad states just that:

"Some say I push too hard, that I ask too much, my response: I'm just getting started, that's the American Way."

Excellent advert, great music and the message is on target (I know that is a no-no word, but screw the would be censors) and I believe will be very effective. Congressman West exudes confidence, and exemplifies true service to country.

Congressman West doesn't claim to be part American Indian, doesn't play the race card hundreds of times a day or fall back on phony-baloney NewSpeak. Straight up, straight talking patriotic American, service before self and dedicated to American values.

Give it a watch and see if your step isn't lightened, your mood lifted and perhaps a glimmer of hope is kindled in your heart.

Occupalypse Now: The End

Is it possible that the "Occupy" movement is dying a slow, agonizing death? The LA Times characterizes it as "fading away" like the movements of the 1960's that just faded away in the post-Vietnam world of the 1970's and the advent of "yuppies", those who had their fill of the dirt, filth and privations of the hippie revolution that is the root-stock of the "Occupy" movement and decided to get their piece of the pie. That self=entitled attitude is in my opinion, one of the direct causes of our current political mes.

The LA Times, in an article today by Matt Pearce, says in part:

Political movements don’t die; they just fade away.

 So the question now is how far Occupy Wall Street has slipped out of sight and what has taken its place.

 Clinically speaking, the Occupy movement is far from deceased, with meetings and protests still happening all over the country. But as the widely anticipated May Day demonstrations and NATO protests came and went, general interest in Occupy has remained at a low simmer, and activists are looking beyond the “Occupy” label that some feel has boxed in the movement — if it was ever a “movement.”

 In other words, we might be witnessing a little political rebranding.

“Many of the early participants in the large assemblies in New York last summer, which organized to Occupy Wall Street on Sept. 17, never wanted to build a movement per se,” Salon’s Natasha Lennard wrote recently. “’Occupy’ was a tactic, a banner under which to create public spaces and forums and to intervene in the assumption that politics is just about voting or supporting candidates or campaigns.”

She added, “Personally, I’d love to say goodbye to the banner of ‘Occupy.’ ” [...]

Of course she would. The Marxists behind the entire "Occupy" movement and protests would like nothing better than to be disassociated with the movement that has engendered thousands of arrests, rapes, rampant drug abuse and child abuse/endangerment. As well as several outbreaks of lice, scabies, etc.

I anticipate the fading away of the brand but not the ever-present evil behind the "Occupy" Guy Fawkes mask, international Marxism with the goal of global totalitarian rule.

Silence Of The Damned

I am not allowed (at this point) to speak about the events of which I have been blogging since the 19th. So I will quote Protein Wisdom:

...The very idea was ludicrous, of course, but this judge’s misapprehension of how Twitter and blogs work led him to make a cocksure ruling that is on its face a clear attack on First Amendment protections.

 That the left would celebrate such an ill-informed and frightening ruling is further proof that “progressivism” — for all its talk of fairness and protection for the little guy — is about nothing more than power and control.  And any way they can seize it is fine with them, the ends justifying the means and all.

– Which is why it isn’t at all unhelpful or “fundamentally unserious” to point out how and why progressives adopt a particular view of language and a particularly convenient anti-foundationalist epistemological stance:  it is through the institutionalizing of the collectivist assumptions inherent in the left’s philosophical outlook (which is inherently egalitarian, and so inherently anti-liberty and, in the strictest sense therefore anti-American) that they’ve been able to lay the foundation for the normalizing of a postmodernist worldview, one in which Enlightenment principles are overthrown and replaced by a cheap relativism in order to reach an end stage where a mandate to rule is the product of coalition politics, a Balkanized society, and manufactured consent aided greatly by a compliant propaganda arm in the media.

 Fighting each individual battle on the local level is certainly important and useful; but it isn’t nearly as important or useful as exposing and combating the incoherent linguistic and philosophical assumptions that give rise to all the individual battles.


Swatting away the flies is well and good.  But if you’re already dead, it’s also largely moot. [...]

Early Morning Freedom of Speech News Round-Up

I am surprised there are not reports of loud spinning sounds issuing forth from the graves of our Founders and Framers (nor reports of loud laughing issuing from the tombs of Lenin, Marx and Khrushchev) post arrest of conservative blogger Aaron Walker (known in the blogging world as Aaron Worthing).

Walker was arrested yesterday about midday as he left a Maryland courtroom where he represented himself (he is a Yale educated attorney) in a hearing pertaining to a "Peace Order" taken out against him by convicted perjurer, domestic terrorist, forger and all around nogoodnik Brett Kimberlin for blogging the truth about Mr. Kimberlin's past criminal activities.

The Arrest Of Aaron Walker For Exercising His First Amendment Rights

Here it is boys and girls, another salvo in the battle to retain our right to free speech as guaranteed by the first amendment. As I wrote earlier today, there is a mighty movement to strip or otherwise strip the right to free speech from any who would gainsay or otherwise question the activities of this government and the paid lackeys who are it's enforcers.

Today, in Maryland, following a court hearing on a falsely acquired "Peace Order", attorney Aaron Walker was taken into custody because Brett Kimberlin asserts that he has received "uncounted" death threats following the exposure of his criminal past by blogger Aaron Walker and others (myself included). This appears to be a violation of the finding of the Supreme Court that finds bloggers are extended the same rights as other media and have the same protections.

This is a rapidly evolving story and you should watch for updates as I can get them. I hope to get a reply from Aaron himself soon.

Our Endowed Rights Under Attack

The rights that we, as Americans, enjoy are under attack. Primarily our rights as guaranteed by our Founders in The Declaration of Independence and in the Constitution of the United States of America. These rights are not granted by our government, rather, they are acknowledged and protected by it.

As I have written in the past, our rights form a tapestry of freedoms that all of mankind is endowed with under natural law. These rights are dependent upon each other for the orderly conduct of our lives as part of this great Republic, as free people, to enjoy the prime right from which all other depend, much like the master cord in a tapestry, the Right to Life. It is no coincidence that our Founders enumerated it first in the Declaration, for without life, no other right is possible.

The right to life is under assault by the expansion of abortion funding under Obamacare and the recent HHS mandate goes further in that it also attacks the freedom to practice one's religion without fetter or let. A double-barreled approach, as it were. To be clear, the Declaration says:

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.

The first amendment to the Constitution says:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Pretty clear-cut isn't it?

Yet there are those in our nation and our government that would strip of of these rights, if they could. They cannot, as stated previously, they are endowed by our Creator and only guaranteed by government. At best, they strip away our legal protections.

Strip away by whatever means possible, as we have seen publicized these past few weeks with the revelations of Aaron Walker, Patrick Frey, Stacy McCain and others who have been the targets of Brett Kimberlin and his associated thugs in their campaign of "lawfare", threats and intimidation of citizens exercising their right to free speech.

I await news of the result of todays hearing in this issue, from Aaron Walker, the present object of Kimberlin's "lawfare" attack. He is not the only one, sadly, as news of the "SWATting" of Eric Erickson of RedState and CNN came out over the long Memorial Day weekend.

The battle is joined and the reserves are needed. Let us all heed Liberty's call, the call that she is under siege and has need of he loyal and patriotic children to come to her aid!

I, for one, will not be silenced!

Remembrance

My father, Reese Norman Lemmen, was a member of what is called "The Greatest Generation". He served with the 79th Infantry Division in Europe during World War Two. As a platoon sergeant he was responsible for his men and knew each of them well, having trained with them for over two years when they went ashore in Normandy a few days after D-Day.

He and his men were involved in heavy fighting outside Cherbourg, in the deadly hedgerows. Fully 85% of his platoon were causalities during the period of just a couple of weeks, either wounded (as my father was) or killed.

My father never forgot his friends that were killed during the war. Reticent, as were many combat vets, he rarely spoke about the war except when he had numbed himself with enough alcohol to numb his survivors guilt.

These honorable dead are the ones we honor today, those men who gave their lives in defense of our freedom, you put their very lives on the line to overcome totalitarianism, to stand forth as defenders of mans endowed rights.

Having passed in June of 1974, my father rejoined his platoon, once again among his friends of long ago, the friends of his young adulthood, his comrades in arms. Be at peace my father, rest quietly knowing that your sacrifice and the sacrifice of your men was not in vain. You shall soon have a full roll call as the vicissitudes of time snatch the few remaining men of that "Greatest Generation".

#BrettKimberlin: The Call to Battle

As reported elsewhere, my friend Aaron Walker (who posted online as Aaron Worthing) will be in court on Tuesday morning in Maryland for a hearing in the #BrettKimberlin case.

This, dear reader, is the clarion call for battle. Time to don our "battle-rattle" and take to the front lines. Our most powerful weapon is exposure of this twisted sociopathic dwarf and his minions to the light of day, to call public attention to his activities and "lawfare" tactics against conservative and liberal bloggers alike.

Left us sally forth with signs, bullhorns, pamphlets, voices to expose them to public scrutiny. We must support Aaron in this cause or be forever silent victims of the vicissitudes of those who would be our masters. This simply is not about just Aaron, but truly about our continued existence as a free people.

The details are these: Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. in Montgomery County District Court 191 E. Jefferson St., Rockville, Md. 20850 (H/T to The Other McCain).

All those who can be there, must be there.

We, as citizens, have rights endowed by our Creator (the very one Obama refuses to mention when quoting our founders). With these rights comes obligation. If we are to have free speech, we are obligated to fight for everyone else's free speech. This case is very much a battle over free speech. The ability to tell the absolute truth about an individual without fear of repercussions.

The battle lines are drawn, will the defenders and lovers of Liberty and free speech rally?

I pray God it is so!

What Now? The Day After #BrettKimberlin

So blog about #BrettKimberlin day has come and gone and over 150 of us participated in the blogblast (my pitiful contribution here). We actually inspired some of the larger blogs and even Glenn Beck (who devoted time to interviewing Patterico’s Patrick Frey and Aaron Walker). There is still a very large veil of silence from the MSM albeit with a few rays of sunshine poking through (there are reports circulating that some bloggers have been contacted by MSM giants and I can confirm that as I am one who was contacted).

So what do we do now?

This must be only the opening salvo in a concerted, full-scale, set-piece battle, not merely a skirmish or probe-by-fire. There will be casualties, there will be those who flee the field of battle and there are turn-coats in our midst. We must re-double our efforts, we must unearth the truth as that is our very ammunition. We must support each other, putting aside enmity, petty squabbles and discord until after this war is won.

For a war is most surely is. A war against the removal of our endowed rights, a war against our freedoms, a war against immutable truth by an enemy that lives among us, ensnares out children and friends with its siren song of entitlement and “free” stuff, of no responsibility, of no obligation, of delusion. This siren song is but the fair voice of the totalitarian regime, the Marxist delusion, the collectivist mantra that led to more than 100 million deaths in the 20th century.

It is a war for our very existence as a free people, as a society, as a nation.

Why should I care? I’m a former con-artist of long standing, a convicted felon, an ex-con, someone who has lost the right to vote, to have access to weapons (not just firearms, but bows, arrows and knives or other edged weapons), to travel without permission, to have a bank account. I am pariah.

Yet I speak, not hiding my past, not quibbling and trying hard not to feel unjustly excluded by those who do not trust me. Last evening, BigFurHat of iOTW was a caller on the Andrea Shea King BlogTalkRadio show. Andrea’s featured guest was Stacy McCain who was telling the story of his involvement with the #BrettKimberlin story. As I often do, I was listening to Andrea’s show and interacting in the chatroom. I let Andrea know that I was in the chatroom and Stacy said some very complimentary things about my dedication to reforming my life and mentioned my blog, so I called in and had a nice on-air chat with Stacy and Andrea. After I got off the phone, BigFurHat was the next caller and he discussed the #BrettKimberlin story as well. He did make a very cogent argument that referenced me. He said that many on the right still do not trust me (rightfully so, as BigFurHat himself said on iOTW when the issuebecame well-known in March, I was a “serial hoaxer“, a very apt description of my former self) unlike the liberal left who embrace and finance all manner of felons.

Much of that dichotomy comes, I believe, from the very divide between us. That divide is characterized by the conservative belief that truth does not change and is the same is all situations. The liberal, however, believes that truth is situational, is mutable and is based in only that specific incident. The liberal believes that the ends justify the means whilst the conservative believes that for the ends to be just, the means must be just.

A very wide gulf in perception and belief.

To return to the question of why I care, why I expose my past, my private life and my privacy to the world through my blog and my activities? Simply that I am a citizen of this great nation and no matter that my status as a convicted felon limits my civil rights, my obligations as a citizen are in no manner lessened. Among these are the obligation to speak out in the public square when I believe that our government and/or society are proceeding down the wrong path. To make known the corruption, the graft, the back-room deals when they are known to me. I also am obligated to be an example for the generations of my fellow citizens that follow my own. Because of my past criminal activities and associations, I must hold these up as an example of what not to do, to hold up for public scrutiny my efforts at reform of self and redemption as an example of hope for those still criminally involved and to allow my fellow citizens to hold me accountable for my very words and actions.

That is what this really is about, the obligation of each and every one of us to act, speak and write the truth, to be responsible citizens and to fulfill our obligations to God, country and each other. Degenerate and unrepentant people like Brett Kimberlin and his network of like-minded political anarchists are the enemy. Let us work together in honesty, love of country and belief in each other (as far as is fitting in my case) to overcome this infection in our body politic.
