HYPOCRITE ALERT: Obama proclaims April as "The month to teach young people to budget responsibly"

By Correctamundo

You really cannot make this stuff up. I'm glad I wasn't drinking something at the time I read this or it would've shot out of my nose and all over my monitor. After reading it, though, I need a drink...

(CNSNews.com) - President Barack Obama, who has increased the national debt by $53,377 per household, has proclaimed April “National Financial Capability Month,” during which his administration will do things such as teach young people “how to budget responsibly."

Is this another EO or something? Or maybe an April Fool's joke proclamation from the day's namesake - His Imperial Fool?

“I call upon all Americans to observe this month with programs and activities to improve their understanding of financial principles and practices,” Obama said in an official proclamation released Friday.

“My Administration is dedicated to helping people make sound decisions in the marketplace,” he said.

"Together, we can prepare young people to tackle financial challenges--from learning how to budget responsibly to saving for college, starting a business, or opening a retirement account,” he said.

“My Administration continues to encourage responsibility at all levels of our financial system by cracking down on deceptive practices and ensuring that consumers are informed of their rights,” he said.

I'm sorry but I cannot stop laughing...actually my mouth is agape and I'm staring at the article in wild-eyed wonderment.  Apparently, I'm not alone.

Yeah, even Will Profit can't believe it.

When Obama was inaugurated on Jan. 20, 2009, the total debt of the federal government was $10,626,877,048,913.08. As of the close of business on March 28, 2013, the total debt of the federal government was $16,766,988,432,792.62—an increase of $6,140,111,383,879.54 since Obama took office.

That means that under Obama the federal debt has increased $53,377 for each one of the 115,031,000 households the Census Bureau says there are now in the United States. The president is required by law to submit a budget proposal for the next fiscal year by the first Monday in February.

Yes, I'm going right to the WH website to get all the information I can to learn how to manage my money more efficiently. I'm going straight to the pros - the U.S. Government. That makes as much sense as calling a plumber when you have a toothache. Dear God above, help us.

Priorities: Barry 'The Baller' Obama gets his March Madness brackets filled out in the nick of time...now about that budget...

By Correctamundo

Whew! After a failed tour of the Middle East, Barry had just enough time to fill out his March Madness brackets - that's a relief! He can now take a vacation from more pressing matters....like that budget that's 6 weeks overdue.

The Obama administration will release its 2014 budget more than two months late on April 8, according to congressional sources.

Pentagon officials have informed the House Armed Services Committee that the budget is coming on April 8, said Claude Chafin, a committee spokesman. A Democratic congressional source confirmed that is the planned release date.

The April release means President Obama's budget will be nine weeks late, as it was due by law on Feb. 4, the first Monday in February.

Pfffttt....'due by law'....semantics.

Here's some interesting facts on late fees that we, the average American, have to pay, when we're late for things:

FEDERAL TAXES: The penalty is 5% for each month the tax return is late, up to a total maximum penalty of 25%. The percentage is of the tax due as shown on the tax return. If your tax return is more than five months late, simply multiply your balance due by 25% to calculate your failure to file penalty.

PROPERTY TAXES: Here's an example from Travis County, TX: By law, penalties and interest increase monthly, up to 24% annually, and may exceed your base tax due. To know exactly what amount is charged for each month of delinquency, view this chart of annual penalty and interest charges. If the debt is not paid, further legal action may also be taken. When a lawsuit is filed, additional costs include a minimum of $335, plus attorney's fees of 15% of the total amount due.

MORTGAGE/CREDIT CARD/AUTO: The lender will normally impose a late fee of up to @ 5% of the loan payment if you pay after a 15 day “grace period” and similar arrangements or penalties exist on credit cards, and other installment loans, like a car loan.

VEHICLE REGISTRATION: Generally, it's a $10-$20 fee.

I think anything that says 'by law' should be deemed null and void. It doesn't mean anything to the highest office in the land so it shouldn't mean anything to us serfs.

Here's the Office of Mismanagement & Bloviating (OMBs) official statement on Obamaramadingdong's Fiscal 2013 Budget (note the buzz words and endless campaign slogans throughout):

The President's Budget for Fiscal Year 2013

We now face a make-or-break moment for the middle class and those trying to reach it. After decades of eroding middle-class security as those at the very top saw their incomes rise as never before and after a historic recession that plunged our economy into a crisis from which we are still fighting to recover, it is time to construct an economy that is built to last.

The President’s 2013 Budget is built around the idea that our country does best when everyone gets a fair shot, does their fair share, and plays by the same rules. We must transform our economy from one focused on speculating, spending, and borrowing to one constructed on the solid foundation of educating, innovating, and building. That begins with putting the Nation on a path to living within our means – by cutting wasteful spending, asking all Americans to shoulder their fair share, and making tough choices on some things we cannot afford, while keeping the investments we need to grow the economy and create jobs. The Budget targets scarce federal resources to the areas critical to growing the economy and restoring middle-class security: education and skills for American workers, innovation and research and development, clean energy, and infrastructure.

The Budget is a blueprint for how we can rebuild an economy where hard work pays off and responsibility is rewarded.

'Living within our means and cutting wasteful spending':

Inauguration:  ~$300M
Golfing with Tiger Woods & Partying on his yacht: Over $1M
Michelle's trip to Spain: $467,000
Michelle's separate trip to Hawaii instead of waiting to fly with Barry: $63,000
Malia's Spring break trip to Mexico:  $115,500
Failed green energy loans: GET YOUR CALCULATOR OUT

Hard work does pay off....if you work hard enough to stick your head up the politicians' rearends, you'll get rewarded. Meanwhile, we, the American people and taxpayers, get the toe-end of an iron boot stuck up ours.
