SEQUESTER ALERT: Another month, and another Imperial President vacation

By Correctamundo

Remember these famous words of Barry?

“If everybody took an attitude of shared sacrifice, we could solve our deficit and debt problem next week" - Obama, Aug 2011

Well, next week has done come and gone. In fact, a lot of next weeks have come and gone. And now, just 3 months into 2013, Barry & Company are taking a 3rd vacation - that's an average of one vacation per month for you libs out there.

In the first three months of the year, members of the first family have been on three vacations, averaging a vacation a month.

The Obamas began the new year in Hawaii.

Then the first lady and their daughters vacationed in Aspen over President's Day weekend.

While the rest of the family was in Colorado, Obama went to Florida for a golf weekend. "It was not his motivation, certainly, but President Obama is honoring his modern predecessors on this Presidents’ Day weekend by doing what many of them liked to do on breaks: chill out in Florida with the guys — including, in his case, one of golf’s most famous guys, Tiger Woods," the New York Times reported in February.

And now it's being reported that the first daughters are on a spring break vacation in the Bahamas.

And so, us serfs have to live by Barry's creedo: 'Sequestration for thee, vacations galore for me'.

Obama has an epiphany: 'Yo, we gotta be doin' some governing', or something...

By Correctamundo

It only took one full term in the WH for Obamaramadingdong to figure out that we need to actually 'govern'.

President Obama urged compromise Monday as he pushed congressional Republicans to reach an agreement to avoid big spending cuts due to take effect at the end of the week.

This is code for 'It's my way or the EO highway'.

"There are always going to be some areas where we have genuine disagreement ... but there are more areas where we can do a lot more cooperating than we have seen in the past couple years," Obama told a meeting of the National Governors Association at the White House.

Again, that's code for 'It's my way or the EO highway'.

"At some point, we've got to do some governing. And, certainly, we can't keep careening from manufactured crisis to manufactured crisis."

Oopsy...manufactured crisis? I thought these were real. Is this a Freudian slip, Mr President?

Of course, we come full circle back to The Godfather, aka Rahm 'Creepy Ballerina' Emanuel, Obama's former right-hand man minus a finger.

"These cuts do not have to happen, {editors note: That's what Rahm said before losing his finger}" he said. "Congress can turn them off anytime with just a little bit of compromise."

May I remind everyone, once again, that it was Obama who proposed, wrote, and signed the sequester to begin with.

"I know that sometimes folks in Congress think that compromise is a bad word and they figure they'll pay a higher price at the polls for working with the other side than standing pat or engaging in obstructionism," Obama told the governors.

Oh my freaking gosh - talk about the pothead calling the kettle African American. I guess now that you don't have to worry about the polls anymore, you can talk about not worrying about the polls, eh Obamaramadingdong?

Enough of this tripe. This sudden urge to govern won't last long. After all, St Patty's Day is just around the corner - time for some much-deserved R&R with another vacation to ease the strain of all that governing.

Debbie Blabbermouth Schultz predicts doomsday if sequester kicks in - only the wealthy will survive, gun fanatics will run amok

By Correctamundo

I was hoping we had heard the last of Debbie Blabbermouth Schultz for awhile - she's been laying pretty low since the election. Now that it's over, she's got no one's record to lie about.

Well, she's baaaaacccckk.  And she's single-handedly predicted the end of the world via the sequestration - the Mayans aren't happy about stealing their thunder on that one. And of course, only the rich will survive as usual. The gun debate will be delayed, meaning law-abiding citizens exercising their 2nd Amendment rights will be running amok, keeping their guns locked up in their gun safes and only using them for protection.

Before watching this, may I remind everyone that it was Obama who proposed, wrote and signed the sequester.

CHRIS JANSING: And I guess the other question is, if the sequester, you know, battle continues to go on, what it means for other things that need to get done. For example, today the president’s grass roots group is planning a national day of action with a protest outside of NRA offices, and I guess about a hundred other smaller events and rallies. I mean, for example, would work on gun legislation be delayed because of the sequester?
DEBBIE WASSERMAN-SCHULTZ: Well, everything is — everything would be delayed. You’re going to have massive indiscriminate cuts to education, to health care research, you’re going to have research grants that won’t get funded. I mean, the decisions that we make now, letting the sequester kick in, have short-term effects that affect people’s daily lives, but they also have significant long-term effects. If a university isn’t able to hire a researcher or — because the grant doesn’t come through — that researcher never does groundbreaking work that could save thousands of lives later on down the road. I mean, this is dramatically irresponsible. It’s irresponsible for our economy and the impact on it. It’s irresponsible to, in terms of the impact it would leave on the middle class and working families. The only ones who get protected are the wealthiest, most fortunate Americans. But that appears to be the Republicans’ goal. And it’s just baffling. How could they possibly continue to only care about people who are already doing really well who are the only ones that would be shielded from the impact of sequester cuts?

Have you ever heard such tripe before in your life? Research grants that won't get funded and/or that can save thousands of lives - you mean like a museum of magic that received $147,000 to study the audiences of magic shows or more than $550,000 of U.S. taxes that went to the production of a documentary on how rock bands contributed to the fall of the Soviet empire? And why exactly would only the wealthiest survive?

Of course, she didn't get into the gun legislation part of it but she did lump it in with 'everything would be delayed' - that's code for 'The sky is falling at the hands of the GOP even though we had control of the Senate for much of Barry's first term yet did nothing but pass the healthcare tax....er, healthcare act'. So the ceremonial banging of the made-up crises drum continues. As they say in Looney Tunes land:
