Last week, it was quietly mentioned that Obama plans to sign the UN Gun Treaty in silence and out of the public eye, while congress is in Summer Recess.
As reported by Breitbart, White House press secretary Jay Carney has said Obama will sign the treaty “before the end of August,” even though legally he could have done so next week.
However, today, Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott explains what that new treaty would mean to all Americans. The new UN treaty threatens our rights:
It doesn’t recognize the individual right to keep and bear arms or the fundamental right to defend yourself, your family, or your property;
It empowers a new UN bureaucracy focused on firearms restrictions that will be run by international bureaucrats who are not accountable to the people of the United States.
It could impose firearm registration requirements that may empower international authorities to get information about American citizens and businesses.
This UN treaty does more than trample our Second Amendment rights. It also threatens to erode all liberties guaranteed to Americans in the Constitution by giving the UN power to govern our lives, so if the current President can’t pass his gun-ban, he’ll give the UN power to take them, until the powers that be can reverse the wrongs that he puts in place.
